Botulinum toxin stops sweating for 4-8 months, sometimes up to 1.5-2 years. Excessive sweating is stopped by injecting botulinum toxin into problem areas.

After each treatment, hyperhidrosis (increased sweating) loses its intensity, so sweating normalizes after a few injections. The full effect becomes apparent within two weeks.
